WHO AM I

“At heart I am someone who is deeply curious about people, how unique we all are and how we all react differently when faced with the same situation and the mechanisms of help we need to recover.”
– Heidi Nichols

Integrative Counsellor

I made an informed decision to study as an integrative counsellor as this gives me more tools and frameworks to use within the counselling relationship enabling me to create a bespoke, therapeutic plan as every person’s journey is unique to them.

I understand that starting a counselling journey can feel daunting and you may feel vulnerable, I aim to create a safe, non judgemental space for you to explore this.

Therapy is a collaboration and we explore emotions, experiences and patterns together all with care, compassion and empathy, working at a pace that is manageable for you.

Right Counsellor for You

If you are looking for a Counsellor that will just agree with everything and nod in all the right places, then, I am probably not the right Counsellor for you. As we work together I will challenge you and your thinking, looking to explore avenues and approaches to create a tailored approach that is unique to you and your journey that will also align with your values and beliefs.

Since passing Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Integrative Counselling Theory and Practice I have continued to study Level 5 Working Therapeutically with Trauma. I have also qualified as an Advanced Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Practitioner and also as a Trauma Rewind Practitioner.

Adding these to my lived experiences of Disabled Military Veteran, Ambulance Service Mental Health Controller, LGBTQI+ my work sits in the crossover of lived experience and therapeutic counselling practice and theory.
